Police have named a man who died in a collision on the A16 near Welland Road in Peterborough yesterday afternoon.

Aliriza Ulger, 50, of Cleethorpe Road in Grimsby, died when the Vauxhall Vectra he was a passenger in was involved in a collision with a Landrover Discovery at about 4pm.

A 63-year-old man from Melton Mowbray, a 63-year-old woman, also from Melton Mowbray, and a 51 year-old man from London all received serious, but not life threatening injuries as a result of the collision.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles in the time leading up to it. They are particularly keen to trace the driver of a HGV that was not involved in the incident, but is believed may have information concerning it.

Anyone with information on the incident should contact Sergeant Ian Manley at the road policing unit by calling 101.
