A HANDBAG was snatched from a woman on crutches and police are appealing for witnesses.

The theft took place on Thursday, April 12 in Fenland Walk, March, between 10am and 11am. A woman in her twenties, walking with the aid of crutches, was approached by a male riding a mountain bike who grabbed her handbag and rode off.

The rider wore a grey coloured hooded top, with the hood pulled up, blue jeans and trainers.

Pc Brian Dilloway said: "I am appealing to the many people who were in the area this time of day. Did you see someone riding a mountain bike matching the description? Or did you see the snatch itself?"
