PURSE thieves targeted shoppers at three Morrisons supermarkets – including Wisbech - and all on the same day.

All of the thefts occurred on Wednesday- and all within two hours of each other.

The first incident took place on Elm High Road, Wisbech between 10.15am and 10.45am.

Next up was King’s Lynn between 11am and 12pm and then Bridge Street, Downham Market between 11am and 11.45am.

A Norfolk Police spokesman said: “In all cases, the victim’s purse was taken from their handbag whilst their trolley was left momentarily unattended.

“Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed any of these incidents or has any further information.”

If you have any information please call King’s Lynn Police Station on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“Be extra vigilant with their personal belongings following this spate of purse thefts from shopping trolleys,” said the spokesman.
