“It’s not a playground” is the warning coming from Cambridgeshire Police after they were called to reports of youths on the railway line between Norwood Road and March train station on Monday night.

British Transport Police teams from Cambridge and Peterborough were also alerted to the “very dangerous” incident.

A police spokesman said: “We were called shortly after 8.40pm on April 11 to reports of children crossing the railway line in March.

“It is believed the children crossed the lines between Norwood Road and the train station.

“The incident was passed to the British Transport Police.”

It comes just a week after police warned a group of youths, who were seen placing concrete troughing lids on Peterborough railway tracks, that they were ‘dicing with death’.
