POLICE have urged the UK Border Agency to “do the right thing” and deport a drunk who has plagued Wisbech and repeatedly breached his anti-social behaviour order.
Juris Dragancuks, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to four months in prison on Tuesday after he was found guilty of breaching his ASBO.
Cambridge Crown Court heard that on July 28, the 41-year-old was caught drunk in public in Wisbech - a breach of the ASBO imposed on him in May this year.
He had already spent 57 days in custody, leaving him with just over two months of his sentence left to serve.
Dragancuks’ catalogue of crime includes shoplifting, street-drinking, abusing members of the public and, on one occasion, trying to head-butt a police car.
He has repeatedly breached his ASBO and, earlier this year, he was arrested for stealing and drinking aftershave.
Licensing police sergeant Dave Bax said his officers would pursue any further ASBO breaches and “leave no stone unturned” in ensuring the order was met.
He added: “I have asked the UKBA to do the right thing and call time on Dragancuks’ stay in the UK.”
