IN response to Deborah Hutler's comments in the 'No to nursery' story, published last week, I would like to correct some misleading facts. No 12 The Causeway, March, has not been derelict or empty for 10 years. If Mrs Hutler was a March resident she would know this.In fact in the eight years I have live next door, no 12's previous owners, let out the rooms to tenants, and did so until the sale of the house to them. The house has never been empty during that time. Therefore it is untrue to state that as the property had been empty for 10 years any use now would increase noise levels for neighbours. After leaving the planning committee last Wednesday I and other neighbours were verbally abused by Mrs Hutler's husband. We were then accused of being child minders and owning the flats next door, which again is totally untrue.Mr and Mrs Hutler need to understand that we are merely trying to protect our families' quality of life, our privacy, our right to be in our gardens without the noise of 42 children, the right to be able to look our of our bedroom windows without 42 children looking at us.She also needs to understand our concern for traffic congestion and lack of parking for our own residents on The Causeway, as not all have driveways or garages. With parents of 42 children being dropped off and picked up continually between the hours of 7am and 7pm, this will cause chaos, not to mention accidents.I feel Mrs Hutler has underestimated the people of March. If she feels she can walk all over us, she is very wrong.March has many nurseries, out-of-school clubs, and child minders all of which offer excellent facilities, staff and vacancies, and they are in appropriate sites, not the main road into town, or a stones throw from neighbouring houses and gardens. The fight will continue.J PALMERThe CausewayMarch
