SINCE Councillor Alan Melton came out of exile he has spoken about his concern over the demise of our Doddington Community Hospital within the Fenland District Council chambers on two occasions. For whatever reason Alan has done this, we thank him. We wish he had done so when he was leader. Fenland Council for some reason has ignored the campaigns to keep and improve this facility; something that can affect the lives of everyone it represents.New leader, Councillor Geoff Harper, seems to have accepted that some land at the Doddington Hospital site will be sold. A true loyal Fenlander would be fighting to stop any proposed land sale on this site, not talking about the section 106 cash; money which seems to fall down a black hole these days.REG WENNAcre FenChatteris
