IT is time the entire population took stock of what people in all halls of power are doing to our country.Deputy Prime Minister Prescott can make a decision to stop the building of Christchurch village hall, when he should be in jail for council tax evasion over many years.Education Secretary Ruth Kelly allows sex offenders to teach in our schools. Surely such people would be safer in jail.Our own Police Authority, for the 10th year running threatens to prosecute those who deposit mud on the roads; but the Crown Prosecution Service says it is not a serious road traffic offence.It is still a potential killer. Replacing the fine with a jail sentence would stop it.Fenland planners, who have a history of making erroneous decisions, now claim a local trader's advert/direction sign clutters up the environment. Chatteris House has cluttered up the environment of the town for the past 10 years, and still does. However, Fenland Council is a big part player in that eyesore.The March church burglaries and missing street names are signs of the times. We must have more visible police personnel on the streets, both by day and night; and fewer in administration.The five bodies which want a part of your council tax will soon be setting their segment increases.
