Twelve former customers have modelled a thriving wedding dress making company’s new collection.

Instead of hiring models to show off the ‘Something Blue’ range, wedding store Saavy Cinderella, of March, put an appeal out on Facebook for previous brides to model the dresses.

The models for a day were suitably pampered - two March hair and make up companies, Hair Necessities and Fabulous Faces, alongside Genesis of St Ives, were on hand to add some extra glamour.

The photos taken will appear on Savvy’s website and in their 2015 calendar.

Founder Sue Lovell said: “Rather than hire models, we thought it would be lovely to ask our previous brides to model our outfits. We posted it on Facebook and were overwhelmed with the response.

“It was good to give them the chance to have their hair and make up done. The brides looked amazing. We’ve got some beautiful customers.

“It was also an opportunity to meet previous brides, gain their feedback on the new styles and have them as real people on our website.”

Mrs Lovell started the business from her Manea home in 2008 and it has been a great success.

In October 2013, she moved the business to a wedding store which does wedding dresses, bridesmaid’s dresses and men’s hire, as well as showcasing other wedding professionals supplying photography, car hire, florists, cakes and more.
