Two-hundred-and-fourteen local primary school children visited Cromwell Community College to take part in a series of library skills days.
Over a period of eight days, the children tested their science knowledge with an online science test at the beginning of the day, used their alphabet skills working around the fiction shelves, researched the Dewey decimal system, designed a PowerPoint and enjoyed a meal in the school’s cafeteria.
The event was organised by Jackie Harding, the school’s learning resource centre manager.
“The event was a great success,” she said. “Many Year 6 children said that their day had given them a great experience of secondary school and that they were very much looking forward to starting at Cromwell in September.”
