Social Secretary Ron Webber reported that the mystery trip on April 10 went well and that there were still vacancies for the Cromer trip on August 10.

Catering secretary Colin Hymas said menus for the summer luncheon on August1 would be available on June 6.

Press secretary Bob Mason raised the problem of not being able to contact members because the recorded phone numbers and addresses of members were incorrect. Current phone numbers and addresses should be given to the press secretary or secretary.

Speaker was member Peter Burnell, who gave a talk about his involvement with training, supervision and operation of police dogs in the Metropolitan Police over 30 years, until his retirement from the force in the early eighties.

At the next meeting on Tuesday, May 16, Robert Duncan, a retired prison governor, will tell anecdotes about his prison experiences.
