FIREFIGHTERS helped get Whittlesey's annual duck derby off to a quacking start on Sunday by hosing the ducks on their way in the race from Briggate Bridge to Buntings Bower.
The event is organised by St John Ambulance to help keep its specially adapted bus fully serviced.
Whittlesey St John Ambulance has 3,000 ducks which are put into storage during the rest of the year. It is prepared to rent out the ducks to any organisation holding a charity event.
For more information on renting the ducks contact Judith Foard on 01733 208743.
