A QUILT made by members of the Briar Patchwork Club will be used to raise funds for Chatteris Christmas lights.

The club, led by Jenny Davies, meets in the Vermuyden Room at Chatteris Library and the quilt is a result of a group project. Members created the squares over the summer months and they have been joined up to produce the final article.

Chatteris Christmas Lights Committee decided rather than add the quilt to the prize list of the Christmas draw it should be the main prize in a separate draw to be held during the town’s historic festival.

Volunteers will start putting up the town’s Christmas lights on October 23 and organisers are appealing for more help from residents. Potential volunteers can contact chairman Chris Savill Tel 07528 596281 or visit the website www.chatterischristmaslights.co.uk
