A RABBIT trap was stolen from an allotments site in Chatteris just hours after it was set.
A 66-year-old man had planted flowers in an antique wheelbarrow at Chapman allotments site, in Westmoor Drove, on Saturday evening and set the trap.
The next morning he found the flowers had been tipped out and the wheelbarrow and trap both gone. The wheelbarrow was later found in a nearby field but the trap, which is worth about 45, has not been recovered.
It is believed other damage may also have been caused at the allotments on the night.
A police spokesman said: “Anyone with information should contact Pc Chris Goodman, at March Police Station, on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
