RAF chefs Danielle and Clint stop by at Neale-Wade Academy to share their cooking expertise

Year nine students from the Neale-Wade Academy had a cookery lesson with a military flavour when No. 3 Mobile Catering Squadron hosted a class.
Corporal Danielle Trunzo and senior aircraftman Clint Lashley are members of No. 3 Mobile Catering Squadron (3MCS), which is based at Royal Air Force Wittering.
Students got their hands stuck into their mixing bowls as Danielle and Clint showed the class a basic recipe for chocolate chip cookies before talking about life as a chef in the Royal Air Force.
Cpl Trunzo has just completed her own teaching qualification and is fully qualified to teach catering and cookery.
She said: “There’s loads more to the Royal Air Force than people imagine; if you want to find the next generation of RAF chefs you’ve got to get out there.”
Aynsley Welling, head of school at Neale-Wade, said: “Active engagement with the armed forces is something we do very well at Neale-Wade.
“It’s a legitimate career choice and I think our students benefit from meeting the people who can give them a real insight into that profession.”
Rich Pratley, Commander at RAF Wittering, said: “Firstly I’d like to thank the Neale-Wade for giving us such a warm welcome.
“Obviously I’d encourage young people to consider the Royal Air Force as a career choice, but there is no substitute for meeting servicemen and servicewomen and getting that first hand perspective.”
