People who are already on the Electoral Register do not have to re-register in order to be able to vote in the EU Referendum on June 23 unless their circumstances have changed.

Fenland District Council wants to clarify the position following confusion arising from the Government’s booklet sent to all households earlier this month (April).

The booklet included a message about registration that did not make it sufficiently clear that it was only necessary if you were not already on the register.

The Council has received nearly 500 applications from electors who were already registered.

Poll cards for the June 23 referendum will be sent out around May 18. Citizens of other EU countries will not receive a card because they are not eligible to vote in this poll.
