CELEBRATIONS for the Jubilee were in full flow in a road in March despite some heavy showers.
The street party in Henson Road were opened by a resident who had lived there since the houses were built in the 1930s, making her the person who has lived in the road the longest - and longer than the Queen has been on the throne.
As many as 100 residents joined the party as well as Colin Ruddock, who played the role of Games Master providing entertainment for the masses.
After a brief run for cover from the heavy rain, the party was soon in full swing.
One of the organisers, Kay Dedman, said: “A great day was had by all, a good mixture of young and old all joining in and having fun. A good community spirit was enjoyed by everyone.”
