FENLAND District Council leader Alan Melton has comfortably retained his seat in Birch Ward, Chatteris.
Cllr Melton polled 424 votes, beating Liberal Democrat candidate Christine Colbert who polled 234.
UKIP candidate Sandra Rylance polled 107 votes.

Christine Colbert (Liberal Democrat) 234
Sandra Rylance (UKIP) 107
TURNOUT: 40.62 per cent
