PUPILS celebrate as a team from Roddons Housing Association donate a Wendy House to replace sheds which were destroyed in an arson attack earlier this year.

The Wendy House was donated by Roddons and its contractor The Apollo Group to Westwood Junior School in March yesterday, after the housing association’s team heard about the attack which destroyed outbuildings and toy storage.

The house was a feature of Roddons’ float in the March Summer Festival parade on Saturday.

Debby Bunn, head of customer services for Roddons Housing Association, said: “We are very pleased that we can help the school as part of our commitment to enhance Life Chances and make a positive difference to the community.”

Head teacher Gill Thomas said: “The staff and children would like to say a big thank you to Roddons for their very generous gift of a playhouse. We have lost a lot of games and equipment in the fire and are very grateful that you chose our school.”
