PETER Fenn, of the aptly named, Fenn Travel, was the guest speaker at March Rotary Club on Monday 21 February.

Introduced by Rtn Brian Morton, Peter said his Father founded the business in the late 1950s, originally as Taxi Hire. A contract to deliver School Dinners around the area led to expansion with mini coaches, and then, when regulations changed some years later, into coach hire, and organised holiday travel.

This business has expanded to the success it is today with a fleet of 10 coaches, offering escorted holiday travel in the UK, and Europe. Their personal friendly service conveys holiday makers to destinations such as Austria, Switzerland, Italy, or Poland.

With new coaches costing upward of 350,000. and an annually mileage of 50,000, replacement is after 5- 7 years service. Peter’s aim is to fulfil customers requests, but unable to assist the couple who wanted a ‘Sea View’ in Paris.

Rtn Michael Calvert proposed a vote of thanks for this fascinating insight into Travel, in, or with, the Fenns.
