ONCE again the annual Sausage and Mash Supper was held with guests from branches in the surrounding area who enjoyed a great meal cooked with the aid of Norman and Yvonne Lake and served by the committee. The organ music played by Leigh Murfet tempted many dancers onto the floor and it was good to see quite a few couples among them. Plenty of prizes were donated for the main draw. A separate draw for a large teddy bear run by Freda Aspinall was won by Mr Reg Wenn who presented it to a guest who was visiting from Spain. The profit made from the evening amounted to £345 which goes to the Poppy Appeal Fund.
During the evening 23 copies of the Cake Recipe Book were sold at £1.50 each.
