THE March branch of the Royal Naval Association held its regular meeting last Thursday at the Conservative Club. The chairman welcomed two new members, plus one transferring from Worthing, all three ex-RN, plus an associate member joining from Peterborough.

Members voted on the following donations to charity: RNBT £250, Pembroke House £250, Seafarers Fund £250, Sea Cadets (to sponsor a cadet for training in TS Royalist) £100, Fenequip £200, St Peter's Church roof appeal £50.

The social secretary reported on forthcoming events and the chairman presented a framed photograph to S/M Dick Housden of him being presented with his Arctic Star by Freddie Grounds on Trafalgar Night. This was followed by the vice-chairman presenting the Arctic Star to S/M Eric Deuters. The evening continued with a raffle for a bottle of 'Pussers' rum and a quiz. The next meeting will be on December 14.
