Wow! What a response to last month's appeal.

Rex, the German shepherd, and Freddy, the Siamese cross, are enjoying family life again. Even all the budgies have been re-homed. A big thank you to all who offered to take them in.

Today's picture shows Mylo, the rottweiller. He is about five years old and is a boisterous but friendly boy who knows some basic commands but could do with further training.

We are looking to re-home him as an only pet as he is not keen on cats and can be choosy when it comes to making friends with other dogs.

If there are children in your household they should be at least teenagers as he likes to jump up on people, and he could accidentally knock little ones over.

If you are used to being around big dogs and would enjoy training one with lots of potential, this handsome lad could be just for you.

Over in the cattery, Rocky, a handsome black and white young adult, is looking for a home to support his independent nature.

We nursed him through the effects of a road accident in which he suffered multiple jaw fractures. Now fully recovered he has had enough of pampering and is letting us know he is 'born to be wild'.

Rocky would love to be king of a farm or stable yard and in return would keep the place free of vermin. Ask to speak to someone from the cattery for more details.

Our small animal unit has quite a few young male guinea pigs for re-homing as well as rabbits, a chinchilla and two pretty buff Orpington cockerels.

Cats and small animals are going out fast at the moment, being quickly replaced with new pets needing new homes.

Tip of the Month: Christmas has seen many stray animals on the streets and without microchips there is little or no hope of reuniting them with their owners. For your own peace of mind and to safeguard your pets from an uncertain future, have them microchipped. Once done your pet has its own unique code number. The owner's details and the code are put on to the national PetLog database. If a lost, stray or stolen animal is found, passing a scanner over the microchip will reveal the code. Ask your own vet or come to us at the centre. We will chip your animal during normal opening hours for only £12.50.
