Staff and pupils at a Wisbech school are on their marks to raise money for a revamped garden area.

Headteacher Rachel Hartopp and colleague Darren Farrer, special education needs leader, took to their heels to complete the Great Eastern Run in King’s Lynn at the weekend to raise cash for Clarkson Primary School.

Their efforts followed a non-uniform day on Friday when pupils dressed in sports gear to get in the mood.

The running total so far raised is £500 but Mrs Hartopp and Mr Farrer are hoping to increase that further when they undertake the ‘Beat the tide’ run at Hunstanton next month.

Pupils will enjoy a sport week in the days leading up to the run on June 28 to help raise further funds towards revamping the school’s sensory garden including a special feature and plants.
