Steve Robinson has returned to his roots to take up the post as new fire safety manager for the Fens.

The 49-year-old joined Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service in 1985 as a fire-fighter at Wisbech Fire Station. He has now returned to the station with the aim of helping businesses, voluntary organisations and landlords in the Fenland area to comply with the new Fire Safety Order.

Mr Robinson, pictured, recognises that the responsible person may have problems understanding the new legislation, and wants to help address this.

In the coming months he hopes to set up a series of workshops, to introduce those responsible for the Fire Safety Order and guide them in their duties to carry out fire risk assessments.
