WHEN resident Tony Williams reached his 65th birthday and became a pensioner he decided to hold a birthday party at the Court. He undertook all the arrangements, having to visit several shops to find a turkey, which he eventually got from a butcher in March. He prepared and cooked the meal himself with assistance from Lillian Savage and Ruby Rowlinson. As a result a cold roast meat and salad tea was served to the 16 tenants. Joan Brown took care of refreshments and wine and Mary Hoskin helped with serving and washing up.
Tony lived in London before moving to the Fens six months ago.
