A March woman, who undertook work experience with the Cambs Times four years ago, is off to study at Oxford University.

Samantha Hodson studied firstly at Neale-Wade Community College and then went to the sixth form college at Hills Road, Cambridge, where she gained four grade As at A-level and a further A at AS level last year.

During this time she also played Cambridgeshire County netball and performed for Cambridgeshire dancing. She has secured a place at Oxford studying law at Lincoln College.

Sam took a gap year for 12 months mainly doing voluntary work abroad in India and Brazil working with blind and disadvantaged children. She also worked in New Zealand in the vineyards, visited family friends in Sydney, Australia, and worked on the Camp America programme in the USA teaching dance and drama.
