CHATTERIS Christmas Lights Committee has received another boost to its funds.

he Old Bakery Tea-Room on Market Hill presented the committee with a cheque for 460, raised at the Santa’s grottos held outside the tea-room during the lights switch on over the past two years, and from the sale of second-hand books.

The cheque was handed to Chris Savill and Reg Tibbitts of the Christmas lights committee by Tina and Gloria Prior, who run the Old Bakery.

Tina said: “The Chatteris Christmas lights volunteers work incredibly hard and never fail to put up a great display, which the whole town benefits from. It’s nice to be able to support them, and promote something positive about Chatteris. Many thanks to the committee and volunteers for their hard work.”

The Nisa Local store in Chatteris donated 1,200 to the Christmas lights appeal this year.
