Scaffolding worth £1,200 was stolen from outside a building in Chatteris and police are now appealing for information.

Along with a CCTV image posted on the Facebook page Policing March and Chatteris, a police spokesman said: “Do you recognise this man? We’d like to speak to him in connection with a theft in Chatteris.

“At about 7.40pm on 18 August scaffolding valued at £1,200 was stolen from outside a building in High Street.

“Anyone with information regarding this incident should call police on 101 quoting CF0480000817 or visit www.contactcambspolice.uk/Report/.

“Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.”

It’s the latest in a series of break-ins and thefts in Chatteris High Street.

At the end of August, police were alerted to reports of a burglary taking place at Lloyds Pharmacy at around 4am.

Three men, all wearing hoodies and dark clothing, had broken into the store after smashing the front door of the shop.

It is thought the offenders made off with a number of bottles of perfume and aftershave.
