FOR the sixth successive year St Andrew's Church, Whittlesey, will holding a scarecrow festival. Life size scarecrows and models will be on show from today until Sunday. Scarecrow entries can be sitting, standing or, as in previous years, flying.

In earlier festivals up to 25 scarecrow entries have been received. As part of the celebrations a quiz night will be held tomorrow (7pm) and a songs of praise service in the church on Sunday (6pm). Throughout the festival weekend there will be stalls, tombolas and competitions in the church and refreshments will be served. The festival will be open between 3pm and 7pm today, 10am and 6pm tomorrow and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.
