The children of Benwick Primary School say “Scoop the Poop” and ask “Who wants poo on their shoe?”
Soon, those messages will be displayed on eye-catching posters pinned up in the village’s dog mess hotspots.
The posters were the winners in a competition organised by Fenland District Council as part of its continuing campaign against dog fouling.
Twenty-nine Year 5 and 6 pupils from Class 4 took part and the top prize went to Jake Allen with Sam Robinson as runner-up.
Both designs highlighted the £75 fine that can be imposed on anyone spotted failing to pick up their pet’s mess.
Teacher Rebecca Wakefield said: “Jake and Sam are over the moon that their posters are to go on show around the village.
“The whole class has thoroughly enjoyed learning about why our paths and pavements must remain free from dog mess.

“They relished the chance to put their art skills into practice to encourage people to pick up their pets’ poop.”
Congratulating the whole class on their efforts, Councillor Peter Murphy, the council’s cabinet member responsible for the environment, said: “Dog fouling is one of the regular complaints made by people in all our towns and villages.
“It is a constant battle to educate people to behave responsibly and involving children is one of the best ways of getting that message across.”
The worst affected parts of the village are the area down by the river and along Ramsey Road, according to the parish council.
Jake’s prize for winning the competition is a family swim voucher and 25 per cent off a pool party at one of the council’s leisure centres. Sam won a family swim voucher.
