POLICE officers have visited a Wisbech supermarket to offer parents tips on keeping children safe in the car this Christmas.
Representatives from Cambridgeshire Police spoke to families and cornered customers in Asda car-park - giving advice and demonstrations of how to safely fit car seats.
A recent survey by Which? revealed that 80 per cent of children’s car seats are not properly fitted and officers held the event in a bid to reduce this figure.
Andy Gooding, store manager at Asda, said: “It’s great to be able to hold events like this at the store, making sure that our customers are aware of the guidelines that are in place.
“The advice that was given out was really useful and Cambs Police gave parents the relevant advice depending on their child’s weight, height and age.”
