FRIDAY Bridge Senior Citizens Club met in Tower Hall. Vice-chairman Doreen Bell welcomed 24 members and one visitor. A minute's silence was observed in memory of treasurer Verity Johnson, who had died. Members with birthdays were given cards and gifts. No games were played; instead a quiz devised by Audrey Smith was held. Winners were Ron and Shirley Allen and John and Eileen Grainger. Margaret Roper read a poem. Maureen Roberson prepared and served refreshments with helpers. Enid Waite sold raffle tickets and Doreen Bell sold bingo tickets. Bingo winners were Arnold Bennington, Mike Orme (2), Olive Ovis and Jennie Cox. The auction of goods was held with auctioneer Audrey Smith. The next meeting is July 4 when Peter Harvey, Wisbech harbour master, will talk on Wisbech Port.
