SHERLOCK Holmes, Harry Potter and the Mad Hatter visited the classrooms as Wisbech Grammar School came alive for National Book Week.
Pupils at Magdalene House, the preparatory school, marked the event by dressing as their favourite characters from a host of stories.
Prizes were awarded to 24 of the best costumes, with children aged 4-11 getting into the literary spirit on Friday.
Headmaster Chris Moxon said: “Reading is very important here at Magdalene House and in this technological age we still encourage our children to lose themselves in books at every opportunity.
“Their enthusiasm knows no bounds and it was a most enjoyable way to mark National Book Week. We shall certainly do something similar next year.”
