SHOPPERS in March enjoyed a cookery demonstration in the town’s market place courtesy of an executive chef from the Oliver Cromwell Hotel.
Mark Hughes set up a stall and offered free tastings in an event organised by Fenland District Council and enthusiastically supported by market traders.
Mike Chapman, the council’s markets and events manager, said: “This was a really successful promotion. The demonstrations were very popular and almost all the food stalls on the market joined in offering free tastings, which went down really well.”
Russell’s of Upwell also offered tasty samples and special deals on their locally reared range of home-produced sausages to celebrate British Sausage Week.
