Bowled over at charity event in March

Short mat bowlers raised £200 for the Poppy Appeal when they staged a charity competition.
Seventeen teams of short mat bowlers played triples at March Indoor Bowls Club, a regular competition in the calendar and one which is always enjoyed by the participants.
The winners were Roly Fincham, Dawn Fincham and Chris Plaice with eight points +25 shots, second Liz Mitchell, Maureen Bell and Sandra Smith with eight points +24 shots and in third place Jean Retchless, Josie Charter and Joe Peters with six points +19 shots.
The remaining results were Ron Ellinor, Janet Russell, Gerry Russell - 6 points +16 shots, Rob Bonello, Jayne Thorpe, Janet Goff - 6 points +1 shot, Mary Fox, Geoff Ward, Barry Fox - 4 points +10 shots, Ron Welsh, Sue Thompson, Dave Warriner - 4 points +3 shots, Malcolm Spriggs, Luke Feeley, Jim Warby - 4 points -6 shots, Paul King, Linda White, Rosemary Cooper - 4 points -7 shots, Brenda Waling, Charlie Waling, Derek Retchless - 3 points +2 shots, Sheila Page, Rosemary Richardson, John Page - 3 points -6 shots, Patrick Bretagne, Margaret Rea, Alex MacFarlane - 3 points -8 shots, Lynn Parker, Judith Bendon, Dave Bignall - 2 points -7 shots, Libby Gay, Robert Gay, Kate Cook - 2 points -8 shots, Doreen Butcher, Judith Fox, Ray Fox - 2 points -16 shots, Margaret Strang, Jeff Saunders, Jackie Saunders - 2 points -20 shots, Nick Osbourne, Sandra Osbourne, Maria Humphreys - 1 point -22 shots.
