Short mat bowlers raised £200 for the Poppy Appeal when they staged a charity competition.

Seventeen teams of short mat bowlers played triples at March Indoor Bowls Club, a regular competition in the calendar and one which is always enjoyed by the participants.

The winners were Roly Fincham, Dawn Fincham and Chris Plaice with eight points +25 shots, second Liz Mitchell, Maureen Bell and Sandra Smith with eight points +24 shots and in third place Jean Retchless, Josie Charter and Joe Peters with six points +19 shots.
