Civic leaders from across Cambridgeshire joined the mayor of March, Councillor Jan French, for her annual civic service, at St John's Church. It was led by the rector, the Rev Stephen Taylor, with other clergy officiating, including the Rev Anthony Chandler, rector of St Peter's. Two licensed lay ministers from St John's, Terry Streamer and Diane Wise, also helped lead the congregation in prayers.
An act of dedication pledging town councillors "to the service of our town of March" came towards the end of the service, before the congregation sang the National Anthem.
Cllr French and John Elworthy of the Cambs Times read the lessons at the service.
A buffet tea, laid on by St John's, followed in the church hall.
