Two women will “brave the shave” and part with their hair to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Coral Cranwell will have her head shaved tomorrow night at the Ivy Leaf Club in Whittlesey, while Louise Goakes is going through the same process at 3pm on August 29 at Clhaire’s on Burrowmoor Road, March.
The night of Mrs Cranwell’s shaving, there will be a disco and a large raffle with prizes being donated by local shops and people.
Mrs Cranwell said: “Cancer effects so many people, and can have devastating effects. My life has been touched by this disease a few times so I thought I would try to contribute something to this cause, in this awesome way.
“There’s something super exciting about shaving your head when you’re a girl, not the norm ay?
“So please, please donate what you can, big or small, it really is going to a great cause.”

Mrs Goakes says she has been inspired to get shaved after losing her parents and nan to cancer.
She said: “I’ve lost three very important people in my life to cancer along with many other people I know. 21 years ago when I was only 11 I lost my mum to bowel cancer. Then in 2008 we lost nan. And in 2011 I lost my dad to prostate cancer... cancer sucks but together we can beat it.
“My hair means nothing to me but if I can raise money to help others by getting rid of it then it means everything.”
