WHILE many youngsters took advantage of a few days off school, one group of students completed the WWF’s Ecover Blue Mile Challenge.
Pupils from the Rainforest rescue after school club at Sir Harry Smith Community College, Whittlesey, completed a sponsored mile swim during half-term.
They hope their swim at the Manor Leisure Centre raised 300, which will go to the Blue Mile Challenge to help keep oceans clean and sea life safe.
Zoe Hill, of Sir Harry Smith Community College, said: “A big thank you to the Manor Leisure Centre, which very kindly gave up two lanes of the swimming pool, and parents who came to help support the team in their endeavour.”
The students who took part were Frankie Asplen, Tylia Bagnall, Caitlin Berridge, Martina Boccia, Ryan Carey, Sophie Down, Ami Ellen, Michael Feary, Emily Hargrave, Emily Lowndes, Jacob Neal, Oliver Seekins, Natalie Speechly and Georgia Speechly.
