Sixty per cent of Sir Harry Smith Community College pupils achieved five GCSE A*s to C including English and maths.
Seventy-seven per cent of students got A*- C in English and 71 per cent A*- C in Maths.
Individual success stories were Jamie Donkin with six A*s, four As and two Bs; Molly Hudson with four A*s, seven As and one B; Carmen Powell with four A*s, six As, two Bs and one C and Jaqueline Sangster who achieved three A*s, six As and four Cs.
Principal Jonathan Digby said: “I would like to congratulate this cohort of students who have produced a good set of GCSE results this summer.
“Students and teachers have worked really hard to achieve 60% five A*-C grades including English and Maths.
“Students gained outstanding results in both English and Maths, with 77% achieving grades A*- C in English, and 71 per cent receiving grades A*- C in Maths.
“I am delighted that the students have achieved these results.”
