TRYING to get six to nine homes on "land the size of a postage stamp" is ridiculous, councillors were told.
Councillor Peter Murphy was opposing housing for a site at 48 High Causeway, Whittlesey, which fronts Cemetery Road.
Fenland District Council planning committee rejected the application, after hearing from officers that it was backland development that would destroy the character of the area.
The proposal would have meant demolition of a workshop/office.
