Men from Wisbech St Mary who died during the First World War were remembered in a special service by army cadets.
The commemorations took place at the Parish Church of Wisbech St Mary and Guyhirn and included cadets from Wisbech detachment and members of the Royal Anglian Regiment Association.
The service was to mark the fallen from the parish who never returned from the 1914-18 Great War.
The service was organised by Brian Payne, chairman of Wisbech St Mary Parish Council and an authorised lay minister and the Rev Ryk Parkinson, associate priest of the parish.
Rev Parkinson, who is also senior padre for Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force, said: “It was a great opportunity to involve the Cadets in the service especially as they are involved in WW1 projects with a particular focus on the Cambridgeshire Regimen as they wear the Cambridgeshire Flash on their uniform.”
Army cadets carried Standards, laid a wreath and read the names of the 55 serviceman who died along with a letter written in 1915 to a boy from Parson Drove.
The sender serving on the frontline died shortly after writing the letter.
