Sixth form students at Cromwell Community College opened their own soup kitchen and raised £150 for the Crisis at Christmas campaign.
The children made soups and pizza bread as well as mince pies and other Christmas treats. They then sold them to raise almost £150 – which is enough to reserve a place for six people at one of the Crisis centres this Christmas.
“We are very proud of how much we managed to raise in such as short space of time,” said one student, “as well as helping people much less fortunate than ourselves.”
Crisis works all year round with homeless people, but is particularly active at this time of year opening Christmas centres around the country.
At Crisis centres homeless people can enjoy hot meals, a proper bed, access to healthcare and enjoy the company of others.
