A speeding motorist hit a telegraph pole, overturned, and hit three other cars parked in the front of two bungalows.
A police spokesman said: “We were called at 8.20pm on Friday evening with reports of a collision in Norwood Road, March, involving a silver Mercedes E55.
“It was reported the car hit a telegraph pole and flipped, landing in a garden.
“A gold Renault Megane, a black Ford Fiesta and a black Ford Focus, which were all parked up nearby were hit by the Mercedes.”
The spokesman added: “A boundary wall of one of the houses was also damaged in the collision. The driver made off.”
Police did not reveal if the driver has been found.
One eye witness said: “A car was seen speeding along our road tonight at about 8.15pm. The driver escaped and ran away”
Another report said the car hit two bungalows and before the driver got out and fled.
Other reports said cables were left hanging down as a neighbour’s car got shunted into the neighbouring bungalow.
“It’s knocked all the plaster of the inside of the bungalow,” said one man.
One woman posted to Facebook that it was “bloody scary; to think they could have been in bed in those front bedrooms and the car going through the wall.”
Other residents felt let down by the county council for not going ahead with traffic calming measures down Norwood Road.
“That’s a straight piece of road with a 30 limit; requests have gone to council for traffic calming but been refused and now this,” said one resident.
