And several other organisations have also been invited to lend a hand following the success of the “Clean for The Queen” campaign held over the same weekend last year.

On Friday, March 3, the March Street Pride/In Bloom group are teaming up with staff from Amey Cespa for a joint event that may also involve workers from Tesco and CUB. They will be meeting at the George Campbell Centre at 10am.

On the same day Wisbech Street Pride will meet at the Hudson Centre at 10am, with some Tesco staff hoping to join them, too.

And members of Waterlees In Bloom / Street Pride will gather at the Oasis Centre at 1pm, with extra support being provided by children from Orchards Primary School and Circle Roddons staff.

Saturday, March 4 will see four more events scheduled by existing or would-be Street Pride/In Bloom groups in Manea, Chatteris, Tydd St Giles and Doddington.

The Manea group will meet at the Rumours Café at 10am for a litterpick round the playing field and Pit.

Group members in Chatteris will meet at the town council offices at 10am and those in Tydd St Giles will gather at the postbox opposite the church at 10.30am.

Meanwhile, in Doddington a trial litterpick is being held to gauge the level of interest in forming a new Street Pride group there. Volunteers will meet at the village hall at 10am. All necessary equipment will provided but all those attending must wear suitable clothing and footwear.
