THE monthly meeting of the Women's Own was held on Wednesday evening when the speakers were Gwen and Peter Dewdeney.

Their evening was entitled 'Hatched, Matched and Dispatched' in which Peter spoke of events and happenings during his Ministry during Christenings, Weddings and Funerals. The talk was interspersed with hymns and readings and was very much enjoyed by all members. An offering was taken for WO funds and the President Joy Smalley gave a vote of thanks and then conducted a short business meeting.

Two celebration sponges had been made by Joan Thompson and decorated by Joy Smalley and were for the 90th birthday of Grace Elliott and the 95th birthday of Jessie Morton. There were then shared between the members together with coffee and tea.
