SIXTY decorated trees were packed into St Mary’s Church in Whittlesey for its annual Christmas tree festival.
The three-day event, which opened on Friday, raised 1,400 for the upkeep of the church. A carol service on Sunday to finish the festival was attended by 200 people.
Shirley Wright, of St Mary’s Church, said: “The church was absolutely beautiful and it was great to welcome a few new groups such as the Salvation Army and Whittlesey Motorcycle Club.”
First Whittlesey Guides won the favourite tree competition, which featured a helter skelter. Mrs Wright described it as a “fabulous idea”.
