PRESIDENT Renee Tuffs welcomed members to the February meeting at which a letter was received from Edie Long resigning from the club and committee because of ill health. Edie, a member for 70 years, was the club's longest-serving member.
After a bring and share supper, games of whist, dominoes and beetle were played. Winners all received small prizes. Points awarded in a competition for an unusual bread sandwich were: 10, L Lacey, K Thomas; nine, C Wilson, B Smith, H Lorraine; eight, E Blake, M Keighly, D Philpott. The draw was organised by E Blake and H Lorraine. The next meeting will be on March 8 with speaker Jacqueline Tevlin as Joyce Grenfell.
The monthly competition will be for a short amusing poem.
