PRESIDENT Rene Tuffs opened the first meeting of the new year, with a special welcome back to Pam Doncaster after her operation.
Birthday pens were given to Eunice Whittlesea and Mary Keightly. Prizes were given for the yearly competition: Produce, 1 E Blake, 2 B Smith, 3 L Lacey; monthly, 1 E England, 2 E Blake, 3 B Smith.
Speaker Jim Samuels gave a talk about his appearance on the TV show The Weakest Link. He was presented with a basket of fruit.
Eileen Ransome arranged the social half-hour and the draw was arranged by E Blake and Helen. Results in the competition for 'My Favourite Christmas Card' were: B Smith, L Lacey, C Wilson 10; Z Richardson, H Lorraine, M Fisher nine; J Henchman, E Blake, M Keightly, R Tuffs, E England eight; A Marsh, K Thomas, E Ransome seven.
